NO NATIONAL LOCKDOWN, BUSINESS AS USUAL

There is no National Shutdown in South Africa on Friday, 10 June 2022.

Rumours of a National Shutdown on Social Media are devoid of any truth and are inaccurate.

It is business as usual in Kaalfontein, Allandale, Ebony Park (KAE) and Ivory Park.

Taxi ranks are open, taxis continue ferrying workers, filling stations are operational and children are expected to go to school.

At the time of publishing, there was no sign of protest in our area.

SANTACO which is an umbrella body of taxi associations including Ivory Park Taxi Association (IPTA) distanced itself from the so called National Shutdown.

COSATU has also distanced itself from the National Shutdown and confirmed that none of its member unions will participate.

Law enforcement will be on high alert today and have been deployed across the country to combat any form of criminality.

All businesses will be open and public transport will be available. We will, however, monitor the situation closely and advise should the situation change.
