POLICE ARREST ROBBERS

The Ivory Park Police arrested a total of 5 suspects in the Ivory Park Policing precinct. The suspects were swiftly apprehended after robbing a pedestrian going to work in the early hours of Monday morning.

An unlicensed firearm, ammunition and cellphones were recovered from the suspects. The suspects will spend the night at the Ivory Park Police Station and are expected to appear at the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.

The Ivory Park Policing Precinct has seen an increase of Common Robbery and Robbery with aggravating circumstances in the past year. The 2019/2020 financial year has seen 256 common robbery cases reported at the Ivory Park Station. 711 robberies with aggravating circumstances were reported. This is an increase of almost 30% compared to the previous period.
