RAPE CASES IN THE RABIE RIDGE POLICING PRECINCT

PHOMOLONG

The first incident took place on Friday, 21 August 2020, at about 22:00 in Phomolong. The Complainant alleged that he was home drinking tea with his step father and step father’s friend.

After drinking tea he felt drunk and went to his room to sleep. While he was in bed he heard his door opening and when he checked, it was his step father’s friend who walked in naked.

He came straight to him, started fighting, he was overpowered, forced to bend down and raped.

MAYIBUYE

The second incident took place in Mayibuye, the complainant alleged that she was raped by her father between 2013 and 2015 when she was 12 years.

She alleged that in 2013 her mother went to church for a night prayer when her father came where she was sleeping, he allegedly poured her legs with muthi undressed her and raped her.

Complainant told a family member that she could not tell anyone because she was scared of her father until she couldn’t keep the secret any longer.

Suspects arrested and will appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.
