THREE SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF ENDANGERED SPECIES WORTH R280,000.00

SAPS members comprising of Ekurhuleni North Crime Intelligence Service and Tactical Response Team received Information about individuals who are allegedly selling Pangoline.

“Thorough investigation, an Operation was conducted on Monday 6 September 2021 at 14:00 which led the Police to one of the the liquor businesses in Tembisa where the Pangoline to the street value of R280 000 was found at the back of an Opel Corsa bakkie.”

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the Pangoline is from one of the hunters in North West (Salfontein).” said Captain Sekgobela, the spokesperson of SAPS Ekurhuleni District.

Three suspects aged between 44 and 49 years old -First one from Maseru – Lesotho, the second one from Carletonville and the third one from Malawi were arrested on the spot and detained at Tembisa SAPS.

The suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
