The Gauteng Provincial Government is embarking on a Transformer Replacement Programme in townships that have had no electricity for prolonged periods due to failed transformers.

The Transformer Replacement Programme was launched last month and the Premier of Gauteng, Panyaza Lesufi, switched on six (6) new transformers to the people of Kagiso and Roodeport on Sunday, 05 November 2023.

Some townships that have had new transformers after months without electricity include Kagiso, Doornkop, Zola and Donsonville.

We hope the failed transformers in our areas of Ivory Park, Ebony Park, Kaalfontein, Rabie Ridge and Tsweloepe will soon be fixed after months and some times years without being repaired or replaced.
