TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF UNLICENSED FIREARM AND FOR TRYING TO BRIBE THE POLICE

On Tuesday 07 June 2022 at around 17:00 the team of Crime Prevention Unit was conducting Vehicle Check Point at Dane Road when they stopped a silver Polo with two occupants inside.

The driver and his passenger were searched and the passenger was in possession of an unlicensed and filled off pistol loaded with 15 rounds of ammunition.

The passenger was arrested and taken to Rabie Ridge Police Station for detention.

While the arresting officer was still busy detaining the suspect, his friend approached the police officer and tried to offer him R1000.00 cash. He was also arrested for Bribing the police officer.

The suspects are warned that Bribing of law enforcers is a serious crime. There are dedicated SAPS members with integrity to fight crime , zero tolerance to crime.

The station Commander Colonel Ngoma and her management applauded the team for the good successes.
