UPGRADE YOUR ELECTRICITY SUPPLY WHEN YOU BUILD ADDITIONAL ROOMS
Many Eskom customers do not upgrade their electricity capacity when their needs change. The supply upgrades are essential to ensure that households have sufficient capacity to cater for the growth in electricity demand, such as more appliances or heavy equipment, additional dwellings, or backyard rooms using electricity from one of the main house meter.
Failure to upgrade supply will result in continuous main switch trips and outages in the area, affecting other customers. The application of the legal supply upgrade will ensure that Eskom safely upgrades your household capacity and networks cater for growth and demand.
One of the reasons for power outages and transformer failures in KAE (Kaalfontein, Allandale, Ebony Park) is the result of overloading. The system is under pressure to cater for the multiple backrooms and the capacity has not been upgraded.
To update your electricity supply you can apply by calling Eskom Contact Centre on 08600 37566 or email customerservices@eskom.co.za. Documents required are:
