CORONAVIRUS RELATED DEATHS REACH 90 IN SOUTH AFRICA
As at today, 27 April 2020, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in South Africa is 4,793. This is an increase of 247 from previously reported cases. The total number of tests conducted is 178,470 of which 9,827 were done in the past 24 hours.
Regrettably, a further 3 coronavirus related deaths occurred in Western Cape (2) and KwaZulu-Natal (1). The cases were:
1. A 58 year old male who presented with imminent cardiovascular arrest. He was a person living with HIV and had obesity.
2. A 79 year old male who presented with shortness of breath and chest pain. His co-morbidities included diabetes, hypertension, chronic kidney disease and cardiac disease.
3. A 54 year old male who presented with respiratory distress. He had underlying diabetes
The COVID-19 national death toll is 90. We wish to convey our condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.
