O KAE MOLAO KO KAE

The South African Police Service (SAPS) conducted operation O Kae Moloa in Kaalfontein, Ebony Park and Ivory Park on Friday, 10 September 2021. This is the reason there was a high police presence in our area yesterday.

O Kae Molao is an integrated multi disciplinary operation by the SAPS in conjunction with other law enforcement agencies in the province namely Gauteng Traffic, EMPD, JMPD, CPF. Friday’s operation was joined by Tracker and Fidelity.

High ranking officials: Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Elias Mawela; Deputy Provincial Commissioner: Policing, Major General Tommy Mthombeni; Ekurhuleni District Commissioner Major General Anna Sithole; Deputy Provincial Commissioner: Crime Intelligence Major General Lekalakala; Acting Deputy Provincial Commissioner: Crime Detection Brigadier Shibiri; Gauteng Traffic Chief Provincial Inspector Moemi Richard; Ekurhuleni Community Policing Forum Chairperson Mr Andrew Mosesi and others were present.

The operation was a success in that it achieved the following :
-managed to arrest 100 wanted suspects
-a number of drivers were arrested for drunken driving
-20 undocumented immigrants arrested.
-the operation recovered 2 stolen vehicles. The vehicles were stolen in Pretoria and Bedfordview.
-Two taxis were impounded for being unroadworthy
-a total R7,750.00 fines were issued.
-At least 5 suspects were arrested for possession of dagga
-7 arrested or possession of drugs
-3 arrested for dealing in drugs.
-3 arrested for possession of copper cables.
-Five illegal shebeens were closed down.

Ebony Lifestyle Shisanyama was also closed and liquor confiscated for contravention of the Disaster Management Act Regulations, failing to close at curfew time of 21:00.

All arrested suspects will appear before the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon.
