THREE ARRESTED FOR POSSESSİON OF CLONED CAR

Three (3) men are behind bars for possession of cloned security company vehicle. The vehicle in question had been stolen in Norkem Park, and is strongly suspected for involvement in a robbery incident within Ivory Park policing precinct.

“The three suspects were arrested at the Mall of Tembisa during heritage day activities on Saturday after an off duty police officer noticed some discrepancies on the vehicle, and notified the local Ivory Park police officers. The nature of the discrepancies cannot be disclosed for fear of giving other criminals strategies on how to avoid arrests.” said Captain Ben Matimulane, the spokesperson of Ivory Park SAPS.

Preliminary investigations into the vehicle confirmed the fact that the security company whose details appear on the vehicle knew nothing about the vehicle.

The three, whose ages range from 40 to 46, have been charged for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle, with the possibility of further charge of robbery being added.

The Station Commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, has welcomed the arrest. “The manner in which the vehicle was branded clearly shows that we are dealing with seasoned robbers, capable of blending in with their surroundings”, said Brigadier Ngcobo.

They are due to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 27 September 2022.
