ATTEMPTED CAR HIJACKING IN PHOMOLONG

“According to the complainant on Monday 05 April 2022 at around 20:45, he parked his motor vehicle a Hyundai Telstar at Mdaka Street, Phomolong when two males approached him pointing him with a firearm, disarming him and demanding car keys.” said Sergeant Dipolelo Moremi, the spokesperson of Rabie Ridge SAPS.

While they where busy searching him, a patrol police vehicle approached them and one suspect managed to flee. The suspect left behind allegedly fired shots at the police.

The police managed to arrest the suspect and three firearms and ammunition were recovered. The suspect will appear in court for attempted car hijacking, attempted murder and possession of a firearm and ammunition.

“The police are appealing members of the community who may have information about the other suspect to come forward. Your identity will be treated as very confidential and will never be revealed to anybody. Help us to bring the suspects to the book .
