DRIVING LICENSES EXPIRATION DATES EXTENDED

The Department of Transport has issued a statement advising that “All learners licences, driving licence cards, temporary driving licences and professional driving permits that expired from 26 March up to 31 Aug 2020 are extended to 31 Jan 2021,

Therefore if your license, learners license or PDP expired during the lockdown period. Don’t worry. It is still valid and expiry date has been extended to early next year.

This is as the country is grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic. A number of Licencing Departments around the country are thus still closed.

Our own Licensing Department, Midrand Licencing Department was closed on the 16th of March 2020. It has opened for a number of days and closed due to coronavirus confirmed cases.
