EBONY PARK SONGSTRESS MAKES IT TO IDOLS NEXT ROUND

After having won the Idol’s SA Golden Ticket, Ebony Park’s very own, 18 year old Gugu Hope Mokotleng has made it into the show’s Top 29.

Gugu made the cut to the Top 29 out of 107 hopefuls. She successfully made it through the Group Stages and Solo rounds of Theatre Week.

In the most brutal day of Theatre Week history, 66 Idols SA contestants saw their journey to stardom cut short on Day 1 as the judges picked the best from the good.

The open audition for season 17 has seen more than 100 Idols hopefuls make it to Theatre Week, but the jubilation was short-lived as the pressure took its toll on the contestants. Judges Randall Abrahams, Somizi Mhlongo and Unathi Nkayi made it clear that lukewarm performances were not going to be tolerated.

Gugu was one of the contestants who managed to impress the judges one more time to make it to the next round. We are now rooting for Gugu to make it to the Top 16 and we believe that she has what it takes!
