ESKOM DISCONNECTING ILLEGAL CONNECTIONS IN KAALFONTEIN

Eskom employees accompanied by members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) and a private security company are disconnecting illegal connections in Kaalfontein.

Parts of Extension Extension 22 and Extension 5 will have a momentarily power outage.

The operation started at Kaalfontein Ext. 22 at Sailyard Street. Eskom employees are removing illegal connections that have been installed by the community.

Illegal connections affect the integrity of the power grid causing Eskom to implement load reduction in areas with instances of illegal connections like Kaalfontein.

Communities are encouraged to report meter bypasses, illegal connections and vandalism of the electricity infrastructure on the Eskom Crime-Line number: 0800 11 27 22.

Next load reduction is scheduled for Saturday, 6 March 2021, in Kaalfontein.
