FAMILY MEETING TONIGHT

President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to address the nation tonight at 20:00 on the nation’s developments in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Two weeks ago, the president announced further lockdown measures to help curb the spread of the Delta variant of COVID-19.

Ramaphosa placed the country under level 4 lockdown on June 27 following the massive surge in infections and admissions including deaths due to the pandemic.

One of the restrictions imposed by the the president then was the banning of alcohol sales. With Coronavirus cases decreasing there’s speculation that Ramaphosa will lift the alcohol ban.

At the time of publishing, South Africa had a cumulative 2 368 105 of COVID-19 cases with 69 488 deaths.
