RAMAPHOSA IN RABASOTHO

President Cyril Ramaphosa will today, Thursday, 29 July 2021, visit two Gauteng vaccination sites to assess progress in South Africa’s vaccination programme.

The vaccination sites that will be visited by Ramaphosa today are a public health facility in Rabasotho Community Centre and a private-public partnership centre in Gallagher Estate, Midrand.

Ramaphosa will be joined by Health Minister, Nkhensani Kubayi; Gauteng Premier, David Makhura and MEC for Health in Gauteng, Dr. Nomathemba Mokgethi.

The President’s visit will serve to encourage more South Africans to embrace vaccination as the most effective weapon in the fight against COVID-19.

“COVID-19 vaccines are a safe and effective defence against serious illness, hospitalisation and death.” says the Presidency.

More than 1,6million vaccines have been administered in Gauteng and more than 2,8million have been registered on the government’s Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS).
