“MY FRIEND” ROBBED IN EBONY PARK

On the 8th of November 2019, Tagase Abase an Ethiopian National shop owner was robbed at gun point in Ebony Park Extension 4.

Abase who is known as Shorty and has a spaza shop called Jay Jay’s Supermarket at the Corner of Bouganvilla Road and Delphimum Street was robbed by 2 thugs around 7am last week Friday.

One suspect pretended to be buying something and while Jay Jay attempted assisting the individual they drew a gun at him and demanded he open the shop.

Upon opening the shop they blindfolded and tied him up and searched frantically for cash. The criminals made off with almost R5000 cash, airtime vouchers and cartoons of cigarettes.

They apparently escaped with a motor vehicle which model and number plates are unknown to the victim. The community came to Shorty’s rescue when they saw him tied up and calling for help.

A case of business robbery has been opened and anyone with information of this crime is urged to contact the Ivory Park Police Station on (011) 990-9600.
