VACCINATION DRIVE AT IVORY PARK TAXI RANK

The MEC for Gauteng Public Transport and Roads Infrastructure, Jacob Mamabolo, is at the Emthonjeni Taxi Rank in Ivory Park Extension 2 today, 17 August 2021.

The visit is part of the Gauteng Government-led vaccination drive which aims to bring vaccines closer to the people.

There’s a pop-up vaccination site at the Taxi Rank which allows taxi drivers and members of the public to vaccinate. The site seeks to address the low overall turnout of males to vaccination sites.

Mamabolo hopes that a pop-up vaccination site in the high concentrated area will push back vaccine hesitancy.

The community of Ivory Park and surroundings is encouraged to get vaccinated at Emthonjeni Taxi Rank today. All eligible people (35 and older) are encouraged to come vaccinate.

You may also visit Lord Khanyile Hall in Ivory Park or Kanana Community Hall in Rabie Ridge to get your jab.

Vaccines reduce people’s chances of getting severe illness and hospitalisation in the event they contract COVID-19.

At the time of publishing, more than 2 million vaccinations have been administered in Gauteng Province.
